Arrival
After the admission office contacts you, your arrival time for the medical procedure will be scheduled based on your specific case.
The Pre-Admission Unit (PAU)
“Ensuring Your Readiness for Surgery Before Admission”
Our Pre-admission Unit helps you prepare for your surgery by guiding you through the necessary steps before your hospital visit. Once you've submitted your documents, you will receive a WhatsApp message and a call to schedule an appointment. It's important to finalize all preparations at least 24 hours before your surgery. For certain procedures, like those requiring only local anesthesia, a pre-admission visit may not be necessary. Our team is here to ensure everything is in place for a smooth and efficient process leading up to your operation.
You can submit your documents:
- You do not need to fast before your Pre-admission Unit (PAU) appointment. Feel free to eat and take your medication as prescribed by your doctor.
- The visit may take up to two hours, so please plan your time accordingly to allow our staff to complete everything comfortably.
- Please arrive at the Admissions Office on the ground floor at least 20 minutes before your PAU appointment, where a medical record will be opened for you.
- After you visit the Admissions Office, proceed to the Pre-admission Unit on level B1.
What to expect during your Pre-Admission visit
Be prepared to discuss your past medical and surgical history, including:
- Any medications you take, especially anti-platelets (like Aspirin and Plavix) and insulin.
- Any allergies to food or medications.
- Recent colds or fevers.
Blood tests may be done if needed.
If needed, blood units should be prepared and available before the procedure.
An anesthesiologist will:
- Review your medical history.
- Explain the anesthesia they plan to use and have you sign an informed consent.
- Request any necessary blood products in coordination with your surgeon.
Depending on your age, medical history, and the type of surgery, more tests may be required.
The PAU team will provide instructions on which medications to take on surgery day, what to avoid, and when to stop using certain medications like anticoagulants and insulin.
If your health changes between your Pre-Op visit and surgery day, or if you cannot proceed with the surgery for any reason, please notify your doctor and the hospital as soon as possible.
Please arrive on time to avoid delays.
